Author Topic: I have a few questions about Mac behaviors.  (Read 1621 times)

I'm trying to make my Windows 7 computer look like a Mac, I got a good theme, the dock theme, and I got my window buttons to go onto the left side like a Mac. But I need to know one thing about mac, and 2(or 2) questions about windows 7. On mac, does the windows automatically restore down? By restore down I mean the opposite of maximize... if you didn't already know what restore down means. And if so, is it possible to make windows on windows7 automatically restore down? Does the Mac dock stay on top of all windows, or is it on top of windows until you "use" those windows and then it hides behind the windows? Or is it always behind all windows until you mouse over it? And finally, how do I make my Windows7 task bar "skinny" again? I put it to the top of the screen and it got "fat" and shows the time and date. I don't have the square window thing enabled on the taskbar so it should me skinny.

1.Are the mac windows always "restored down"?
2.If so, how do I make windows 7 windows auto "restore down"?
3.Does the mac dock stay on top, "in the middle" or under the windows you have open?
4.How do I make my task bar "skinny"?

If you want a mac don't buy windows.

Problem solved :D

The dock is always on top of everything.

All I know about macs that really can be done on a windows computer is to remake your dock to pop up at the bottom and show all applications you have set there.

Edit: Squideey, It can be set to the left right up or down.

Restoring down is called minimizing and the windows will always minimize in the direction of the task bar on Windows. So if you want the windows to minimize down you will need to put the task bar at the bottom of the screen.

I would just shut off the minimizing animation so it doesn't even go in a direction, it just disappears.

4. Right Click the taskbar and go to properties. Then check, "Use small icons".

I assume you want something like this

I ditched my dock because it looked uglyish and I took off the program "Finderbar" that makes the top look like a mac's because I had no dock.

Tom

That looks really bad.

That looks really bad.
What exactly looks bad about it?

Lol drugs asked me if I'd hit that and I went to click "View Full Sized Image" on google and it downloaded. That's why it's there twice.

Tom

The edges the menu bar are rounded, and its colors are off a little bit.

The gloss of scroll bar looks different. Forward and back buttons aren't Mac, and bottom of window looks messed up.

Does this look good?

I don't like using chrome so I just got a chromish theme for firefox =P.

Didn't notice you were the OP.
