The new Google looks too much like bing for my tastes with the side bar of options

I don't mind it, Google seems more of an adaptable site for change to me. However it seems unlike them to not add a "hide" option.

The sidebar was always there, but it was hidden until you clicked "Additional Options" or whatever. I liked it that way.

I love the new layout, I first noticed it a few weeks ago when they were randomly rolling it out to several people.

I really don't see how you can hate such a simple layout... I used the sidebar quite a bit before this layout came out, so it's nothing new to me.
