Author Topic: Organize you add-ons  (Read 942 times)

I have a lot of add-ons on some of my PCs and it can be boring to go through all the add-ons and see which ones I want.

So, I went ahead and got bored so I decided to "organize" my add-ons by changing Weapon_Itemname to something more convenient.

One of my examples is:

TierTactical_Package_ExtraMel ee

So if you change the begining whatever you want to call it, you can have an easier time choosing add-ons.

Especially if you use the same add-ons.

you do realize if you do that you're going to create massive download times for your server, break half of your add-ons, break like 100% of your CIs, ruin YOUR download times and basically just make a mess of things

just leave it how it is

Bushido has a point there...

Sometimes I wish that there was some sort of add-on favorites, if you know what I mean. Like there are brick favorites and minigame favorites... Or has that been made?

If you rename a file, it won't recognise it in someone else's server, so you're gonna have to redownload each time you join, or just have the default models.
If you want to organise stuff, use the category maker in RTB and make different categories

So yes, it's already been made. RTB3.2 or something gave the ability to create groups of addons in the addons list so you could find and tick them easily. For example, i have the group "favourites"

Get rid of some of your add-ons or be more patient. Renaming add-ons like that is one of the worst things you could possibly do.

RTB has this old thing fir Add-Ons... it's called "Grouping".

You can fix the CI things, by changing it in the script. But true, it may ruin the download times.
Well, if you cannot host, them this works perfectly.

You can fix the CI things, by changing it in the script.
Then only you will see the CIs. They don't download by default unless you add some hacky extra datablock to force it to.

All RTB add-ons contain a file called namecheck.txt in them containing the name of the zip file - if these don't match then the add-on won't execute. This was made specifically for idiots doing things like this.
