Actually, I don't know the exact point, but they definitely changed animators and story designers or something. At that point, the show got horrible, or at least bad. Way too many gross moments, weird faces, and stuff. Stories turned weird. That episode with Mr. Crab's grandfather or whatever, ending with Mr. Crabs just laughing his MONEY WAS STOLEN BY GRANDDAD was just plain wtf.
