Author Topic: New computer and a complaint about Alienware  (Read 1428 times)

I just got my Gateway DX4831-03 which I bought for $849.
You tell me if it was worth it.

I can mini-nuke Myst Island at a higher FPS than when I looked at it on my E-475m.

A computer of the same specification from Alienware costs $2500. You're buying the name.

In other news, Apple overcharges more than Alienware.

Necesito un equipo mejor. :(

Pero en serio, no puedo ni mirar a tu isla Myst sin retraso.

9 fps? wat

also i have a better graphics card than you lol

I've heard from a friend of mine that owns an Alienware that they're absolutely worth the money because of how solidly they're built.

He says he bought one two years ago and it's still maxing current games and running cool in the middle of summer.

Hey, see where they skimped on parts to lower price?

Seriously though, my budget for my new custom computer was $850 and I'm going to match or surpass this prebuilt easily. The best deal you're going to get price-power wise is going to be building, even if it might be a little shoddy in the quality department (though that really depends on how much care you take).

you don't need an 800 watt PSU if you don't have anything in your pc that needs 800 watts

damn man are you an alienware fanboy or something

I have a 700w PSU.

It's primo for SLI if I ever decide to upgrade.

Also, if he ever decides he wants to get a serious GPU, he's going to have to upgrade the PSU- the minimum system power for a medium range card like mine (GTX 260) is 500w, not to mention a supplementary power connector.

stuff bro, i want one ):
