Do you think you could put both of these into a Dell studio XPS 9000 and would run good?

I'm thinking of getting the new GeForce GTX 480 and was wounder if it would work in my computer and damage it or run bad.

According to this, the motherboard only has pci-e x16 slots, not pci-e 2.0, so you might get a bottleneck with the GTX480.

Also, the card runs extremely hot and you might have heat management problems.

I also just realized that the 480 needs two slots anyways, and my computer only has 1. Any way to increase this or make it work with my computer?

What?

What don't you get? It takes up two slots.
Just saying this now, it doesn't literally take up two socket connections, just in terms of width it takes up two slots.

This.
He only wants one card, so he only needs one slot.

He may want only one card but one card takes up two slots.

Even on my GTX 260, it takes up one PCI-e slot but you have to unscrew two back plates.

I assume that's what he's talking about.

Nope.

You're an starfish. You knew what he loving meant.

That is exactly what he's trying to say.  Good job, you get a cookie.   :cookie:

nvm
Damn straight nvm. Instead of being a richard you could have just helped the guy instead of flaunting around about how much more you know about computer hardware than he does.

Needless hostility, cool. I didn't know what he meant. I wasn't sure if he thought he was unable to use the card because he didn't have 2 slots. You just assumed I was trying to be a richard and jumped to that idea. It was just a simple misunderstanding.
