I bet your parents will give you the $10 I went over.

No stuff brands or extremely old parts here, I wouldn't be surprised if this ran Crysis on medium at a decent res. I put the majority of the money into the CPU and GPU and a decent size of ram too, very optimized for gaming.

Lol, 80gb hd? I have over that on my laptop from like 4 years ago. :o

80GB?

I just put something there, I mean he has an HD right now obviously he probably doesn't even need a new one. K lemme go get you a 500 gb HD and make up for the cost difference by cutting your GPU power in half.

I have a 160GB hd, but I wanted to go with a bigger one, because I fill that. Also, I'm not familiar with ATI, what is that card the equivalent of when talking nvidia?

I just looked on Tom's Hardware and people said it was the best card for under $100. The people that recommended it said it beats a 9800 but I am not sure. Before and after 7xxx-9xxx series of nvidia I get confused trying to compare. I was going to get you an 8800 or 9800 but newegg doesn't even seem to sell them any more which is a shame.

They do. Does anyone know if the nvidia gts 250 is any good? I want a gtx 260, but they are way out of my budget.

I have social experience. I've witnessed it before. I'm only fourteen anyway, I don't expect to find the love of my life so young.

I'm not trying to be bitter.
Love of your life, lol.. The goal is to hit it then proceed to quit it.

Actually, to hit it multiple times. But, damn you for breaking the streak of related posts.

Then proceed to quit it lol, but yes i had to tell him one of the many rules of love.

Get something similar to mines since my stuff costed 350 dollars on sale (may vary between + or - 50 nowadays).

CPU: AMD Athlon II X250 (Instead of Athlon, go for Phenom 64x models or any quad core unit)
GPU: MSI GTS 250 1GB GDDR3  (Go for 260 or above; ATI 5400+)
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H  (Try getting a 795 model)
RAM: 4GB DDR3 @1600 (Kingston 2GBx2 Gaming RAM)

Well, that still leaves me to get a PSU and a HD, so it will end up costing more than that. :/

On with the GPU.

8800 -> 9800 -> 250

Nvidia rebranded the 8800 three times. If the 4670 is better than I would get it over a gts 250.

I am really stuck on what I should get for a GPU then. The GTS250 seemed good, but I would really like the GTX260, if only I could get a better budget.

A 4650, in my experience, beats a 9800GTX in numerous tests. Then you've got the next range, 5 series. 5650 > 4650 for obvious reasons. The 5670 chosen > 5650 obviously.
Wise choice for a budget. You could downgrade to a 4670 or a 5650 for extra HDD space.
