The Lost Cosmonaut:

  There are those who believe that somewhere in the vast blackness of space, about nine billion miles from the Sun, the first human is about to cross the boundary of our Solar System into interstellar space. His body, perfectly preserved, is frozen at –270 degrees, his tiny capsule has been silently sailing away from the Earth at 18,000 mph for the last 45 years. He is the original lost cosmonaut, whose rocket went up and, instead of coming back down, just kept on going.


 I'm really baffled by this article, I know I've known about it since the passed year but I just keep coming back. The feeling of this loneliness is unbelievable, the quietness. To die while looking up into the stars, such a death is only a dream to some.

If you drifted into space and lived for the rest of eternity, you would need to avoid massive/tiny asteroids going faster than the speed of sound.
And the fiery surface of nearby stars.

Maybe a black hole. Or two, if you survive the first one.
