Author Topic: What computer could I buy with $800?  (Read 1085 times)

I'm looking for a quality gaming computer for $800 or less, what would you guys suggest? The processor for the Alienware M11x is extremely stuffty, so don't suggest that.

Have you considered building one?

Buying one from a major brand will be quite a bit more expensive than buying one with similar parts.

Wait until Alienware gives the M11x new processors. (I think it was announced that they will)

No. Don't wait for ANYTHING Alienware related. Build from scratch. You could do really well for 800. Visage is good at this kind of stuff.

Just don't get a laptop. I made that mistake, and I can never go back on it.

What games would you want to play? Would you want the system to last for a couple years without needing to update?

You have to start somewhere, why not now?

Yeah, what dkamm said. It's not very hard to build your own PC.

I bought the Asus Essentio CG5290 for $699.99 at Best Buy. Excellent computer, haven't had a single problem yet. I did, however, buy a GeForce 9800 with it so I don't know what the capabilities of the on board are.
