Author Topic: VALVe game inquiry  (Read 1693 times)

When VALVe games start coming out for mac, Like L4D and TF2, I don't have any credit cards right now.

Can you buy VALVe games in places like Best Buy, Wal-mart or other department stores?

I bought Portal from Wal-mart, so I'd imagine so.

I hope they will sell mac ones too.

Maybe the codes are connected?

Holy forget my ears just felt like a bass drum was shoved into them, like a giant pressure just raped my ear.
Anyways, they more than likely will because if they didn't it would be bad marketing

Well, VALVe already has portal for mac.

I can run that fine, so I can totally run TF2.

I'm just wondering if I can buy a code there and install a mac version too.

I wouldn't know. Try asking the Steam forums, that always works for questions that haven't been asked.

You can buy Valve games in stores, then enter the key on steam and wait for the game to come out on mac.  The disk will be useless, though.

it won't show up into your library until it comes out for Mac, which will be soon.

just a glitch I guess.

If you bought any games for windows, you can use em on your mac too. no use in buying them from stores, especially since I reckon they'll be on sale when they come out for mac on steam.

Nope.  Steam on Mac and Steam on Windows are like different consoles.  It's like having a separate account, but games can be shared between the two with steamplay.

But Trine isn't for Mac, and it's still showing up in my library.

What he's saying is that if a game on Steam is available for Mac and PC, chances are if you enter the key onto Steam you can play it on Mac unless it doesn't use Steamworks.

I'm saying that...

If I buy a regular CD/box for TF2, And then it comes out for Steamplay later, I can use that key to activate the mac version right?

Then someone forgeted something up.  I think Trine's coming to mac really soon, though.  But that's one game showing up out of the many that are on windows.

Yep, if you already play on Windows or are going to, you don't need to enter a key again.
