Author Topic: Meissner Effect  (Read 1281 times)

This has to be one of the most awesome yet fairly simple principles of superconductivity I've ever seen.

Video of the Meissner Effect in action.

Wikipedia article.

Discuss this and other awesome scientific principles.

This is how Michio Kaku built his small UFO.

In science class, we made a bet on who can make it levitate up higher :P
Love science and its wonders.

I've seen this video before.

Hah, fill the roads with liquid nitrogen pipes, put those magnets underneath the car, and hey! you've got a hovercar!

Superconductors are too expensive to mass produce at this point in time.

D: Nooo...

Which is what sucks. Although I did hear that scientists are researching the potentials of the Meissner Effect for use in things such as hovering vehicles.

Bump. My Advanced Biology teacher said we're gonna do this on Friday after I asked him. :D

I'll record a video.
