Author Topic: Problems with joining/hosting a server  (Read 473 times)

I seem to run into a lot of this lately:

You try to join a friends server and it keeps at this screen:

However, some days you don't have this.
It seems to change a lot between this and normal.

The console doesn't show any errors:
Quote from: console
Connecting to "goldboy157's freebuild in san andreas" (58.165.187.9:28000, ---ms)
  Download Sounds:      True
  Download Music:       False
  Download Textures:    True
  Download Projectiles: True
  Download Items:       True
  Download Debris:      True
  Download Explosions:  True
The above is what the console adds (in my case) when you try to join a half-dead server.
Not ore, not less.

Well, here's my explanation. There are alot of players out there that think that they don't have to port forward, no matter what. So they go and host a server (when they can't), and because of the new version of Blockland, servers don't show up dead, and it will continue to try to connect to a dead server.

Unless, you can connect to the SAME server once, and then you can't get in again. Then I don't know about that.

Good advice, Also, usually, --- Ping servers are dead.

True, but why is it that some people can join my server and some people can't?

It is the exact same problem.

I have port forwarded correctly.
I even tried different settings. D:
