You have to be loving handicapped to have that happen

Just to clarify, "Koobface" is not a person. It is a computer worm that targets users with Windows-based operating systems.

Basically, don't accept friend invites from people you don't know. And, for Facebook/MySpace users, (this is equally important) if one of your friends sends you a friend request with absolutely no warning, ask them if they sent it before accepting it. Another thing to be aware of is if you receive more than one friend request for the same friend.

There are many ways to avoid becoming infected with Koobface. In general, don't be an idiot about what you do on your favorite social networking site(s). One more thing, to those of you who think this is only a Facebook/MySpace thing, I'll simply say, read the Wikipedia article.

People send around this chain message that usually says," I can't believe you did this" and you click a link which asks you for your email and Facebook password. People are loving stupid

That, or, you receive a message from a friend on Facebook/MySpace saying something like, "I need money, I had to go to the hospital for an emergency," which most people react to with, "OH MY GOD YES I'LL SEND YOU AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU NEED." Meanwhile there's a guy halfway across the world sitting at a computer laughing his ass off.
