Author Topic: Tactical TDM *IMAGE HEAVY*(Would beta test, but I'm not sure if I can host)  (Read 3718 times)

Here is my first TDM. I had an idea that I hadn't seen (Note: This is from what I have seen, you might have seen it somewhere I haven't.) in any TDM's before me, and it serves two purposes! :D This idea is: Tactical Spawning! Basically, it shows you a minimap after you pick your weapons, and it shows numbered bricks in certain areas. So, let's call the bricks with a "1" Spawn group 1. You press the button for group 1, and you randomly spawn at one of the areas shown on the minimap. It adds to the "tactical" nature I was shooting (no pun intended) for, and it helps prevent spawnkilling! This TDM uses all of Bushi's Tier+Tactical weapons.

On to the pictures (Note, some may be larger than others. I fail at remembering to set resize options on TinyPic.):

This is a picture of what the red team outfits look like. The decals are edits of Jirue's Exo-Force Decal. All I did was change colors. In my opinion, these outfits are pretty damn epic, all versions.

This is the blue outfits. The member's decal is Jirue's original decal.

Here's the minimap, as seen in the blue spawn area. Red has the same minimap, but the buttons are red and link to the red waypoints.

Here's what the weapon selector looks like. Orange ones are available always, white ones are unlockable with kills. The starters are Light blue in the blue base. The button checks if you have one weapon of each type, and if you do, it takes you to the spawn selector. You can't take 2 primary weapons, 2 melee weapons, etc. (Except for the secondary, you can take one of each, pistol and smg, there.) Press the ? to check how many kills are needed to unlock it, along with a short desc. of the gun. Press ! To take one. The current groups are:
1 Primary
2 SMG
3 Pistol
4 Melee
5 Support

Also, you can spectate from two select points on the map. Here's where you do that.

Blue spawn selector/spectate selector.

Here's the actual map. I'm planning on adding more of the Cover... Things.

There's a red in a sniper tower. To make them less camp-able, raycasting on the walls is off, so bullets go straight through. I made the walls pole bricks to sort of portray that. There's a button to go into it, and one to get out. Or you could jump out the window.

Here's a blue in a cover thing, near one of the corner buildings. Those pole things stop bullets, btw. It's kinda an odd story as to why the corner things are there.

Here's the center mountain. There's a hole through the center, for varied routes.

This is one of the mountains on the sides of the map. I know it's ew, and if you agree, feel free to post something similar that isn't ew. (I'd prefer cubescape, as it'll go with the rest of the map.)

You might have noticed these manholes on the edges of the map.

This is the same area, just from below.

It's just a big open path across the map, but I'm going to add obstacles.

I took this picture just for fun. It's also my new desktop background.

And that's it! Feel free to rate 1/10-10/10, and try to keep the criticism constructive. If you want, you can post a .bls file of something you think would go with the map. Things that would most likely be added if you posted them:
Bases, one red and one blue. No weapons, I'd like to keep weapons how they are.
A new design for the "ew" mountains.
Cover to go above ground that would fit more with the map.

You can download the save now, here's the required add-ons (In no particular order):

- Tier+Tactical weapons (All skin and melee packs as well)
- Flash Grenade
- Frag Grenade (The one that spreads shrapnel, not the HE.)
- Pill
- Team Deathmatch
- Bot events (Just for MoveToBrick. Set Player Transform wasn't working. Feel free to fix that, it's on the spawn select buttons.)
- Round Corner Bricks
- Trueno's Colorset
- Pole Bricks
- Riot Shield
- C4 (Not the one Tezuni made, in case you were confused.)
- JVS Content + Switches Pack 1
- Some brick packs found on RTB. Pretty sure it's the one called DemiansBB1, 2, or 3 in the file name. Enable them all. If a brick on the corner fency-things doesn't show up, then you don't have the right brick pack.

I think that's just about it. As long as you don't claim it as your own, use it however you like.

I love the idea but the build is a bit... eh...

I love the idea but the build is a bit... eh...

^

I suggest adding more to the acual build.

It's my first project, and it was mainly a VCE test. And I'm planning to add more stuff. I'll probably update it soon.

I like it so far.

But make the towers either bigger on the real thing, or smaller on the minimaps.
Same with those little bunkers near the corner.

I was thinking the minimap icons for those were too big for the scale that everything else was at. And I'm not sure exactly what you meant by
But make the towers either bigger on the real thing
What would be "The real thing? One with actual walls, and not poles?

No, I mean "Make the towers bigger on the real thing" the real thing, as in, the actual build.

Oh, fail. I read it as or the real thing, but now I see that it's on.

I took the easy way out. I made the minimap ones smaller. Same with the bunkers. I shall now edit the OP.

You're pretty slow.

I already did a series of these types.

Here is some proofs.

Strategic Riverside TDM
Strategic Island CTF
Convoy Ambush

All have captureable bases and weapon sets for specific types of players.

The field is somewhat...bland but I love it. I suggest you post the save.

I stated in the Second of my posts that I was planning on adding more cover and stuff, but it's going to take awhile, as I broke my arm.

I wasn't making a series... Although having some slightly different versions of it seemed like a good idea to mix it up.

Also I'll put the save in the OP, along with required add-ons.
