Author Topic: Final project for flash class.  (Read 1310 times)

I have under 4 days 2 days to create a side-scrolling shooter like that old arcade thing with the space ships and you have to shoot them and stuff, and while the base requirements are such that I could finish itsooner, how could I settle for the bare minimum? :P

I do need help however, in that due to the time press I don't have much ability to concpetualize the art work before I make it, so if people could post pictures and suggestions of what I should base enemies off of, that would be great.

The art style is cartoony and it features the same character as my two previously posted Flash  Games.
Right now I need 3 different missles (like for tanks and helecopters and rocket launchers),
A helecopterish thing,
Something that could act as a bomber (a plane or blimp or whatnot)
Maybe some robot concepts or guns and such.

And I still have yet to decide what the final boss would look like once you reach the end so suggestions on that would be great as well.

Thank you very much in advance for your support, comments, and suggestions.
I don't have much to give in return aside from that you would get to see something you suggested in a flash game.

(two things also,
1: I will not accept anything from blockland, sorry,
2: I already know how everything will behave and what types of guns there are, I am merely asking for suggestions for the cosmetic bits

1: I will not accept anything from blockland, sorry.
I'm out of ideas.

That sounds neat.
Maybe you can make a giant robot crab as the final boss or something.

Yeah, I agree with Nikki or somthing along robot lines.

You could make this guy a character you fight or befriend.

You could make this guy a character you fight or befriend.

He could sell drugs to you that make you blow up the tanks :D

I had a Flash class.

She didnt let us use guns, violence, hitting, etc. in our animations

I might get around teaching myself to make flash games and stuff.

How hard is it?

When I tried to teach myself it, it was impossible, mostly cause I didn't know where or how to start. With an instructor it's much easyer.
And Valen, he looks awesome but not really what I am looking for, sorry.

I also just discovered I have less time than I thought

How much time O: ?

Hey, I'm making a zombie flash animation for my final tech project (totally not a rip-off of L4D :cookieMonster:)

Good luck, anyway

How much time O: ?
Wednesday.

I am going to try and get all the art done tonight and sleep for twoish hours so I can get up early tomorrow and do some programmyness tomorrow morning, just getting the basic background stuff and tank movement, cursor as well and possibly at least work on the positioning for the GUI (I'll work on the code parts for that later).
Tomorrow after class I will program the enemies and projectiles and collisions and try to get the final boss in place, wednesday morning working on the finishing touches, scoring, explosions, ammo/pickups, music, sounds and what not.

That sounds like a lot of work in such a short time o: good luck.

Maybe you can make a giant robot crab as the final boss or something.
I shall do this.
I wasn't able to finish the art yesterday so I will try some today as well as for progrmaming.
The GUI programming is hard as hell without going into object oriented stuff and creating classes with custom methods yet, which my teacher won't go over until the next class. :/

I mean I guess I could do it all lamish and just have health and score and stuff, but animated buttons and health gauges look so much better!

That sounds neat.
Maybe you can make a giant robot crab as the final boss or something.
