It's not closing, the're shifting to new ideas. The space program is starting the training for the first human visit to mars.(not robots like rovers)The U.S. space shuttles are done until 2014 I think. Until then, I think U.S. astronauts are hitching rides with the Russian cosmonauts.
What ideas? Maybe they are short on cash. :o
I mean, you're only flying into space, how complex could it be?
