ToneMatrix is a sine synthesizer that responds to sequenced buttons that create a pressure wave which rebounds off the boundries. You can create small loops with it.

However, for all you iPhone/iPod Touch users out there, there exists an app called TonePad that is just like good ol' ToneMatrix here. It even lets you save and load your creations. You can also download ones that others have made off the Internet right in the app. Search for it in the App Store, there's a free version and a priced version, although the free one can do just about everything the full version can.
