1.) The only selective fire model made by Glock is the Glock18(c), it's not for civilian sale as it was intended for law enforcement and military use.
2.) Most if not all handguns only have an effective range of up to 50 yards, less if it's a compact variant. I'm not worried about having amazing accuracy because, like you said, it's a good self defense weapon.
Also, you can't really conceal carry a fullsize pistol like a Glock18/17.
Edit: Also, Glock18s go for like 3k+, I could buy an AR15 for less, hell I could (I think) buy a Scar-L for the same price, even an ACR for less.
