I've had my share of feelings like this with other clans, but I've learned something from those experiences.

Do better than "your best" and put forth more effort the first time around.  If you don't think it's enough, then put more effort into it.  Polish, triple-check, refine, detail.  You have to really, truly want your goal.  If an application gets rejected, make an entirely new one.  Modification of the old app is often looked down upon.  If you have to modify it, take your time and put tons, and I mean tons of effort into the mod, even if it's slight.  Before re-submitting it, check your work and put yourself in the mindset of the reviewer.  As in, think about what they'll look for.  Look at other people's apps to learn what to do and not to do.  Unfortunately, it was your failure to do one or more of the above that lead you to striking out.  I hope that reading this has inspired and helped you to learn some application skills.

You know, apping for a clan is much like applying for College.  Your app is your essay.  It represents YOU.  Who you are, your personality and your eccentricities that make YOU unique.
