This is calling phishing. Most likely Silver was hacked aswell and the hacker used his account to hack other people. Dont click any links that someone sends you unless you know its for sure that it is them. Ive had a lot of friends on Steam myself that got hacked by this same thing. Just dont click any links that someone sends you is all I can say that could help.
