Author Topic: I don't think my Anti-Virus Software is working correctly  (Read 2262 times)

As long as you're not stupid you shouldn't get viruses.
Even as how stupid as it seems, I study them.

If anybody is curious you can find a collection of viruses on this website http://vx.netlux.org/. No, the site is not infected, they host zips with viruses in them. Your AV could block the zip, depending on which one you have (Avast does). Useful if you want to test your AV against specific threats.
If it has to be said, only download these if you know what you're doing, the viruses won't do much in the zips, but for forget's sake don't open them.

PC tools spyware doctor. best thing for computers everywhere when u register =D

Thanks, but I usualy keep the ones from being deleted by my AntiVirus software by deactivating the virus itself, thay contain "[Autorun]" and I deactivate the virus by putting in "[Autor*GAP*un]".
This deactivates the virus, though I start with the viruses thay do very low amounts of harm or no harm at all (Test Strings). When I get more advanced I will study more dangerous viruses (Excluding .bat, .txt, .zip files) like .com or malicious formats of Viruses. On the other hand....I will use this site, Thankyou.

Edit: I checked McAfee Site Advisor, The file "delphi_virus_source_collectio n_by_positron.rar" is mabey the file you where talking about.
Nother Edit: Drive-by Downloads :/

I thought Spyware Doctor was a Rogue AntiVirus, I checked my list, it is not.

I like things like Spybot Search & Destroy, TrendMicro Housecall, Malwarebyte's Anti-malware, and I've heard many good things about HijackThis. I haven't really used any of these except for the occasional scan, except I have S&D set on a schedule, and it catches everything, even gets tracking cookies.

Not that harmful.
Unless its a SuperCookie/FlashCookie

Malwarebyte's Anti-malware
Malwarebytes FTW

Not that harmful.
I know, they don't actually do much, but it's still pretty cool how it gets them.
