Yep. They did. Apparently parents complained that there children were eating cookies because of the Cookie Monster. If they think that's influencing their kids, then stop letting them watch it!

Im pretty sure they did this a very long time ago and then returned him back to the Cookie monster.
Turns out he never was a Veggie Monster. It was just a rumor, the only change was that he said "Cookies are a sometimes food"
