Graphics Card Help

Hey, people. After going to my friend (Whatevaguy)'s house and playing TF2 on his awesome-mazing computer, I realized that I need a new graphics card. I'm just wondering what kind I should buy, probably around $300. I get $40 a month, and now have about $214. I know you need my specs, but I don't know which ones/where to find them. Thanks for help!

What operating system are you using?

For windows just go into run and type dxdiag.

You can screen-cap or copy paste it for us that would help a ton.

To find your power supply wattage you can open up your computer and write down the information on the power supply (The bi silver box with cables coming out of it).

I think you're going to have to pop your case open to find PSU wattage. Just make sure to turn off your computer first.

Everything is pretty decent.

I would, however, not drop $300 on a card. Your system is pretty decent but it isn't great.

I personally would get the Radeon HD 5770 for $200 and maybe another gig of RAM. The 5770 will run under $200 and will be able to max out source games and still leave you with a reasonable frame rate.

Any $300 card is going to be seriously bottlenecked by that E2200 you have in there. I also fear that your PSU wattage is going to be too low to do anything serious, OR you won't be able to run a PCI-E power line from your PSU to a newer GPU.

Go ahead and take a picture of your PSU when you're in there.

I'm not saying you can't upgrade, you just aren't going to be able to get the latest and greatest stuff without upgrading other components.

You buy it. It comes in a little sleeve and you pop it into a port on your mobo. It's actually probably one of the easiest upgrades that anyone can do to their computer.

I should take back what I said about RAM. I don't want to work you through the process of finding exactly what your RAM is. Mixing and matching RAM is a very bad Idea.
