Editing a weapon, but...

Well, im just making a small edit on a weapon, but I still want the original version of the weapon. How would I make another file for it that is almost the same, but just with that one edit?

P.S. Sorry if you can't understand, this is the best way I can describe it. And I don't know crap about editing add-ons...

ok right no I got it, It shows up in te Add ons list, but not in the items list

Oh. That. Make sure you edited the UI name, got all the file extensions and location correct, blah blah blah.

I had this happen to me, too. Can't remember how I fixed it.
