See that plain white space in my avatar around the gun? How do I make that transparent in paint.net? When I'm im paint.net, that white space just shows up as a white/grey checkered background... so shouldn't that mean it's transparent?

It means it's trans if it's checkered. Use the Eraser tool.

That's what I did. I cleared all the solid colored background with the magic wand, and it goes checkered. But when I upload it to blockland forums, it comes out black, not transparent. Halp?
