Not necessarily. They may want him to concentrate on schoolwork, or maybe they are doing it because of their own personal experiences. Then again, I haven't read through all of the topic. Though, on the other hand, kids tend to exaggerate what their parents say and do. Then again, his parents may just be tyrants. Or maybe they aren't. :o

its because at that age, wtf could a bf/gf even do? see a movie and have pizza? then makeout? most of you dont even have cars.

you dont need a relationship to do that stuff. your lucky your at an age where you dont need to explain to girls that you dont want to be a boyfriend yet still get action. take advantage of it.

My parents haven't put a minimum on me, but I'm intentionally waiting until I have a car and I can drive.  The closest movie theater to me is about 30 min away. I don't want my mom or step-dad driving me to there. I hear all the time in my school about how so-and-so are going out. I think "How can they go out? Does his mom drive them there?"
