Please help settle this argument between a group of friends

One party thinks that baking has to have eggs or flour

the 2nd party thinks that it counts as baking if you jest put a precooked chicken in the oven
« Last Edit: June 04, 2010, 12:00:05 AM by kitty007 »

2nd party is correct. The only requirement to be considered "baking" is to cook something in the oven. Tell party 1 to stop breathing, they're getting their stupidity all over the clean air.

Quote
Baking is the technique of prolonged cooking of food by dry heat acting by convection, and not by radiation, normally in an oven, but also in hot ashes, or on hot stones

Looks like as long as it's being heated in an oven-like place, it's baking.

eggs or flower

I am briefly reminded of a book I read as a small child that dealt with this misunderstanding.

I see somewhat of a pattern here

Maybe we should boil things with a boiler and bake things with a baker
