Author Topic: What the forget is this stuff, and why do I keep getting this stuff?  (Read 831 times)

First off, I don't even have any Visa card or ANY card for that matter, and second off...

I'm not the only one getting this EXACT SAME MESSAGE with the EXACT SAME CARD NUMBER.

So why do I keep getting these stupid scam attempts? This is the second one I've gotten now in a month, after getting absolutely none of this crap for the three years I've owned my phone. And no, I don't just randomly give out my info all over the internet, I'm not stupid like that.

The first one was a number that kept calling 7-8 times a day, I eventually called them and told them to stop calling, and they have.

Discuss, and feel free to call the number if you dare, I guess.

Received this text message: Your Visa card has been placed on hold. Please call 602-412-3251. I have no such card number so I knew it was a scam.

Does this help?

I already know it's a scam, durrr. What I want to know is why I would randomly start getting it after three years of having my number.

Because the scam started 3 years after you got your card or they just now got to your number?

They just now got to my phone number. I don't own any credit/debit cards.

"Hello, I got this message...that isn't my card number"

"What is it?"

Etc.

Because it sees a lot in common between you two,
