Author Topic: Blockland: Civilization (Waiting for First Civilization)  (Read 1601 times)

Hey guys. I come here with a new kind of game. In this, you have to build your civilization, based of factors of resources, technology, and foreign relations.

Right now we are in the setup stage. Here, we setup how we want the game to be placed at. This will be build and displayed in Blockland. Any maps, tech trees, etc, will be used in Paint and/or Word.

Here are the things we need to decide:

What map will we use? (must be a flat map) This will be skylands

How will we add civilizations in the game? You will submit to me the Name of the Civilization and the setup of leaders and advisers, your type of government

Will names of civilizations be real names of past or not, or both? Real names first, then fake names.

Please post your thoughts on these questions here. You have 24-48 hours to debate before voting. Each voting period will be 24 hours only. If we get a general idea in the debate on what we want, voting for that item will not be place. Have fun.

Setup if the leaders and advisers in each civilization (you must follow this, and only one person per civilization.)

  • Leader
  • Council (This includes all advisers and leaders, plus a couple of other members)
  • Military Adviser
  • Domestic Adviser
  • Foreign Adviser
  • Scientific Adviser

Governments your civilization (note: If a leader is overthrown, you go into anarchy):

  • Democracy
  • Republic
  • Dictatorship
  • Communism
  • Monarchy
  • Constitutional Monarchy

Please note that Republic and Democracy are the only ones that have a council. Also, if you don't follow the rules of the game you will be overthrown. If you are not listening to any advisers, then you will be forced into a republic or Democratic government. These governments are recommended for my support in the game (As far as reinforcing pacts and treaties.)

Ok, now we get the fun part. I am now allowing for Civilizations to enter the game. If you want to join, post the message I want. Refer to the questions I had for what I will accept as an application, or see the following:

If you want to start a civilization, but do not have advisers to help, let me know what your civilization name is and I will post it here for people to join. Ones with a  :nes: are currently in the game. Ones with a  :panda: need advisers to start playing.

Sounds alot like Age of Empires.

Sounds alot like Age of Empires.

I had another game in mind, but ok, if you say so.

I will be adding positions for the how the civilization will run. Basically advisers and the leader. Rules will be placed once the debate heats up.

Main post updated. I am now excepting civilizations into the game.

RULES

1)  Only people in the civilization can influence the decisions of the leader's actions, unless the leader asks for outside influence.

2) No spam. Occasional funny posts are allowed.

3) Only leaders can make the official decisions, but must listen to the advisers before announcing the decisions.

4) If war comes about, then I will run a TDM to determine the winner of battles or wars, depending on how many wars pop-up.

5) To make military units, the leader must tell me what unit needs to be made. If you are in war, Both the military adviser and the leader get this power.

6) To make other cities/colonies. The leader must move settler units to an area. Must be at least away from other city's cultural boundaries. in a 1 16x16 radius.

7)  Only one unit/structure can be made per city.

8) If all the cities in civilization are destroyed, the civilization is gone. None of those players may lead another civilization, but may become advisers to others.

9) Rules of the war and winning condition apply at the end of a war, even if it shortens rule 8 to one city.

More rules to come when needed.
