Author Topic: Laptop. Helps me yo  (Read 1720 times)

Ok Ive made a topic on this before nothing helped.

FULL DETAILS YO:
So My laptop used to be a decent one, but now, It's just not working at all.
It used to be able to run anything I wanted with no lag. mostly Valve games.
But now it can't run anything at all. Gmod lags. Hl2 lags. TF2 is barely runnable. Without a Comfort Zone fan which is a room cooling fan, it overheats it ~15 minutes.
I have this stuff:
AMD Turion X2 2.1ghz
Some kinda ATI Radeon Graphics card and 4 gb ram

This has been happening since last year when my little sister pressed the power button on it.
Help. Please

Beat your sister.

The laptop gods are displeased at your sisters abuse.

open it and remove ALL of the dust

Same problem. I usually just log out of steam and turn off skype and the lag goes away.

She must be sacrificed.
How shall we commit this murder sacrifice?

I had the same problem with an old laptop.

Your processor is dying. You'll have to order a new one that is custom made to fit you laptop. This apparently happens when you game a lot. It overheats too much and dies. It should take longer to happen if you get a better quality processor.

And when I say die, I do mean die. Mine wouldn't make even the slightest attempt to start up after too much of that. For the time being, prop it up on some kind of block so it has more room to vent. It's a temporary solution that should keep it from overheating to often.

What?

A processor doesn't just "start to die". If a processor dies, it dies. It won't work anymore.

I'd say reformat if anything.

Ok, Ill be creating one tomorrow or something
I hope this works seeing its restarting my computer :u

No windows disc :C
Did it come with a recovery partition, or any way to restore?

Nah, my mom said I have to make one

Hmm. Well, to solve the overheating problems, I'd replace the thermal compound on the CPU and GPU. That should help it quite a bit. Also, is the fan in the laptop functioning at all?

Yes

How on earth would pressing the power button on the computer break it

He's probably leaving something out.
