Chances are equal, what you said is only possible if they have far superior technology. Life outside of earth exists 100% but its not intelligent, we've even found a planet that we believe to be able to sustain life, its covered in green suggesting it's already covered in plant life and if there's plant life there's a good chance there's life.

We will never know in our life time unless something comes to us.
I suppose you're correct.

Though I'm sure if humans suddenly evolved to either live longer or sustain a higher g force, we would find something.

If we found other sentient life in our universe, it would change humanity and most lawyers forever.
Are lawyers really that bad that they can't be counted as a part of humanity? :c

There is definately life somewhere. The problem is most people limit life to areas that have oxygen. Alien life could have taken a different evolutionary path and breathe carbon dioxide or nitrogen. Just because they don't breathe what we breathe doesn't mean they won't be able to survive.

On the other topic. Like said before, alien life, to find us must be very intelligent or great with technology, live semi-close, be able to travel faster than light or know how to build a self sustianable ship that could house a few or many generations. Depending on lifespan and distance.

Already stated.

Out of the infinite space in.... space, there HAS to be more life.

It may be possible that these little grey men are evolved humans from far into the future coming back in time to do experiments on past humans.

Ancient carvings show people coming from giant portals in the sky, these could be future humans telling the past humans how to live.

For example, know how the Mayans just mysteriously left their civilization behind? People from the future could of come telling them to leave for something terrible was about to happen.

They could of misinterpreted these people as Gods.
Or more like a show I watch, aliens could have been "gods". They descended from the sky, and had more power then the ancient humans.

Ancient civilization had a lot to do with religion and their gods, so that is perfectly viable, the ancient peoples could've thought that the aliens were their deity(ies) and worshipped them as gods.

Exactly, this would be a completely rational explanation to the explanation of the unexplainable, religion.

That's is a conspiracy theory you got right there.

This is a good read if you plan on learning any reasonable or logical explanations for the birth of religion.

Thanks. I personally don't believe religion should be around anymore considering all of the stuff we can explain now, but I would like to know how it all started.

Yeah but then you have to take into consideration how these aliens could of found us and the possibility that they could.

And what they might be able to do. :O

i was abducted by little green men...

i am without a doubt positive that there is life in space... i mean, think about it, in the unfathomable, ever-growning space, where there is an uncountable number of galaxies, each containing billions of stars, and each star possibly containing orbiting planets, that equals to more planets than the digits of pi, and some people believe that there can't be life on any of those planets... so yea... theres life...

What is the definition of life? Things primarily made of carbon that breath oxygen and poop? Who says so? Aliens could be made of uranium, not breath at all, absorb dirt through their feet (if they have any) and grow smaller as they age!

Another thing I don't understand is that we sent a loving record into space with human language recorded onto it. Who the hell is stupid enough to assume that aliens would be able to even remotely understand that? Maybe all that "space radio noise" is actually aliens trying to communicate, but they're too stupid to realize we can't understand.
