What is the definition of life? Things primarily made of carbon that breath oxygen and poop? Who says so? Aliens could be made of uranium, not breath at all, absorb dirt through their feet (if they have any) and grow smaller as they age!

Another thing I don't understand is that we sent a loving record into space with human language recorded onto it. Who the hell is stupid enough to assume that aliens would be able to even remotely understand that? Maybe all that "space radio noise" is actually aliens trying to communicate, but they're too stupid to realize we can't understand.
Quite frankly, your idiocy is oppressing all rational thought. Organisms are mostly carbon based yes, but contains a hell of a lot of elements. Not all organisms rely on oxygen, most plants for instance. Organisms also need to reproduce to keep regenerating their population. Life is known also to adapt to the enviroment, and naturally select what lives and what doesn't.

Next, uranium is highly radioactive when decaying, meaning no life could be created out of it. Radiation kills cells, and cells are the basics of life. Also, it takes gases to keep an organism going and absorbing dirt is the most ludicrous thing I have heard all day. It takes energy to grow, and some organisms spend a majority of their energy doing it, so shrinking would be counter productive, and wouldn't make sense to be born large from a small adult.

Also, we sent those recordings out in hopes to at least show that we are down here. It would be impossible to comprehend just how many languages are in the universe, assuming there is intelligent life out there. And radio signals cannot be sent from an organic substance. You gotta use technology.

Quite frankly, your closed mind is pissing me off.

Why can't life be made in a way we can't comprehend? Life on earth happened because we've got tons of oxygen, and everything else we rely on. Other "life" may not even have cell based life. or DNA. Who says it does?

That was a bit of an exaggeration. There is a lot of carbon on earth. So we've got carbon based life! Life elsewhere in the universe will be based on the available resources.

Even if they have tvs, or radios, how the hell are they going to decode our inventions? It could just be space radio noise, like I mentioned before.

EDIT: look, I'm not trying to start an argument, but I was trying to get a point across that life could be almost anything.

They have to have something similar to cells. They have to.

Explain to me how a creatures body can work without some form of cells doing the work.

Explain to my why it couldn't? It could just be one "cell" that doesn't replicate in the way our cells do. Or something else we can't comprehend right now.

I laughed when they used a defibrillator on E.T.

putting a goldfish in your ear will not let you understand alien languages

Thought this was relevant...

Anyways, think about how many galaxies there are. Then think about how many solar systems are in each galaxy. And finally how many planets are in each system. I'm not saying there are aliens, I'm saying that if there's the tiniest chance of non-earth life, they're out there.

What is the definition of life?
Anything that dies when you stomp on it.

Seriously, however;
There are 7 characteristics, all of which must be met to classify something as life.
 1. Living Things are Composed of Cells
 2. Living Things Have Different levels of cellular organization
 3. Living Things Use Energy
 4. Living Things Respond To Their Environment
 5. Living Things Grow
 6. Living Things Reproduce
 7. Living Things Adapt To Their Environment

Things primarily made of carbon that breath oxygen and poop? Who says so? Aliens could be made of uranium, not breath at all, absorb dirt through their feet (if they have any) and grow smaller as they age!

Past the first '?', your post(s?) becomes stupider and stupider.

Answer Key: No, Anyone with half a brain, No, Yes, What, No, No comment, No.

You guys are all too stupid to comprehend my posts, so just shut up.

There is a 100% chance that there is life on other planets beyond earth. Theres is a 10% chance we'll find them.

All he is doing is making assumptions.
That's because there are no definant numbers.

He's just giving us a rough estimate and he even tells you that.

You guys are all too stupid to comprehend my posts, so just shut up.
Oh lol. You obviously have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Once you learn the parameters of the natural world and universe, come back and explain to us how stupid you were and how you are so sorry.

No one understands life. That's impossible.

I believe in bacteria on other planets, but not intelligent life.
