The light you see at the back of the TV is not for the purpose of the picture, it is a feature called Ambilight.

"I can see over here, but not up!"  I guess it's good for splitscreen, if anything supported the resolution.

Guys, it's the ratio you see when you go to the theatre so no black lines when watching movies and such.

Can it be used as a monitor?


Not only does this TV stretches the picture on the screen, it also has lights on it's back! AMAZING

Man, forget that. I haven't even gotten an HDTV yet. I'm still using an old RCA from 1992!

That's why you pay your cable/satellite company $20 extra a month for HD channels!  Besides, I'm sure it's target audience is those with home theatres or want to play consoles on a really big tv.
