Almost everyone in this thread is handicapped:
A. You don't want to spend less than $50 on headphones
B. Earbuds are pieces of loving stuff, don't buy them and they are NOT worth it.

If you don't want to hear anything but your music, get a pair of Sennheiser HD280Pros. They're designed for DJs, they're amazingly powerful-sounding, and hey, they feel great too. TheWorm and I both have a pair of them.

A. Specs-wise, those are pieces of stuff
B. Personally, I hate them. My sister has them. They sound like stuff.

They cost me $200 back in 2007, but I think they're worth it. They still sound excellent almost three years later. Only thing that sucks is that they aren't noise cancelling (but I made my own noise-isolation headphones).

I'm planning on getting the Sennheiser HD280Pro headphones next. But as JD mentioned, stay as far away as you can from Skullcandy.
