Author Topic: Blockland shows no sign of starting up.  (Read 1193 times)

I've asked this question once for a friend of mine who is dyslexic and cannot type very well and never received a solution.

My problem here is this: When I click the blockland.exe shortcut, nothing happens. No processes or tasks are opened.

The times vary, but when I reinstall Blockland over the current folder, it works for a few times then it will just stop.
Sometimes it will work for a few days, sometimes it will work for a few hours. It varies.

Now I am unsure what is wrong with this but I've read things on W7 User privileges. I am the only user on this PC and I am an Admin.

I've updated drivers as well. I am not computer illiterate and I have done some Google/forum searching on this problem and have come up to no avail. Any constructive help is appreciated.

Is UAC off? Did you install it to C:\ instead of C:\Program Files (x86)?

UAC is Off and I did install it to C:\ no C:\Program Files (x86)\

Is UAC off?
First thing that came to my head.... Check that it is.... Even if it says it is, try right click - run as administrator.

After contemplating it a bit more, I think it may be some live protection (firewall/process guard) have you tried running it while active components are disabled or while you have an exception set up. I know my firewall can block some processes accessing my display driver and then they won't launch correctly.
Just a thought.

Agreed.

I don't have an AV or a firewall other than Windows Firewall. Blockland.exe is an exception both public and private. So I do not believe it is that. Now I will say that I do see a lock icon on the Blockland folder. It has something to do  with the file sharing abilities I do believe. I'm not sure though. It was just a thought and it is the only visible change I can see in the files themselves.

UAC is off I checked it.
Heres proof.

Happens with me sometimes, but not much, usually when I just get back from the computer being on Standby.

Well my PC doesn't go into Standby, so that isn't the problem.

Not used 7, but that lock sounds like it may be installed for a certain user? Did you install it on a different user account?

First post says I am the only user on the PC. This is MY personal computer. There are no others on this PC.

Ah - Sorry... Didn't read it properly. Someone who has W7 would be better to answer this question - I have run out of ideas.

Bump due to unresolved issues. Any one have any answers?

Right-click the folder and select Properties. And show us whats in it.

Well you see, I have gotten it to work for now. I just reinstalled over the current installation.

But here is what you requested:

Notice the lock on the corner of the folder Icon?

Bump due to not being resolved. Any ideas anyone?
