Author Topic: spelling and grammer  (Read 2213 times)

I didn't really know where to put this so its going in off topic.

I don't understand why people find spelling and grammar to be so important?
Sure you have to be able to spell and it is quite annoying when you read something that may have a  slight grammatical mistake but come on. I say if you can understand what someone is saying then it should be fine, by this I don't mean you have to think really hard to understand.

Now you are probably thinking, there shouldn't be any mistakes for spelling because there is a little button in the corner that says 'spell check'. not everybody knows how something is spelled so precisely that they can pick what they meant out of a list of ten other words that all look the same. also people may not remember which wards are which such as there and their which the spell checker doesn't pick up.

here is just a quick example of what I mean, this is what started me off with this topic.
This Is A Vote That
Witch Add-On Should I Make.

A Poll To See Witch Weapon Is Best Of All The Others.
And then 3 minuets later...
You should learn: Proper Grammar/Spelling

I just believe its a little bit obsessive and its only the internet and that things like this should only be pointed out if the spelling or grammar is so horrible that you cant read it.

And one last thing, Even if you don't post it, there is going to be some person reading this thinking they are big and clever by spotting some problem with what I have written, spelling or grammar. Well your not.

Think you mean "grammar" bro.

Get used to it. its the internet

Another one bites the dust...

Lol, no spell check on the subject title. I truly apologize and will take a pilgrimage to oxford and read the largest dictionary I can find.

We're just trying to stop an idiotic civilization from developing. :3

It's just a bit hard to read when someone tries to make words out of a single letter. But still,
its the internet

I shouldn't have to exert a ridiculous amount of brainpower to comprehend what someone's saying.

Anyone who is old enough to be here (I believe you have to be 13 to sign up here, yes?) should be able to type like a civilized person and be able to pick the word they mean from this "list of ten other words that look the same". Anyone with any sense knows the difference between "tomb" and "bomb". Minor spelling/grammar mistakes are quite alright, we're all human, but when people type like this:

Quote
This Is A Vote That
Witch Add-On Should I Make.

A Poll To See Witch Weapon Is Best Of All The Others.

This method of typing baffles me in ways I don't understand. What compels anyone to press Shift while starting to type every word?

I can't tell if you're calling me ignorant or stating that the people I'm talking about are ignorant.
