If your mind can be changed physically (i.e. lobotomy) then it is completely composed of matter. If it is composed of matter, free will cannot exist, it can only be simulated. We have no more free will than a computer, the difference being that we have the illusion of it.

No but seriously, before saying that your an atheist the least you could to is read part of a religious text.

I go to catholic school, and I have just finished studying the entire bible.  If God is real, he used to be one mean motherforgeter.  But anyway...my post isn't actually going to change any minds at all, so why bother?

Also, you probably would reconsider religion if a tragedy happens to you or a loved one.

My grandmother had a cancer in her kidney, and my grandfather prayed to God and Jesus that if they allowed her to survive, he would convert from Judaism to Christianity, and she survived, so he converted.  He said he was never a religious man until he converted.

Anecdotal evidence is the lowest form of scientific evidence. I've had relatives died who were prayed for, so what? The praying likely had nothing to do with the praying and everything to do with your grandmother and the very science that religion undermines.

Don't forget about the countless parents with terminally ill children that forgo medical treatment to use "healing prayers". Of course the child dies, then they wonder why.
