I notice a lot of people coming to servers and telling people what add ons they need to get. I can understand constructive criticism, but I can also understand when that turns into just flat out bossiness.

Constructive Criticism Example - Going to a server with "Good Builders Needed" in the title, and suggesting they get a certain brick to allow the builders to build more.

Bossiness - "NEEDS MOAR desu WEAPONS"

And, since this is a thread I made, I'm sure you can tell that I'm going to be focusing on the second type.

It doesn't seem to bother me too much when I see it happening to someone else, but naturally, it bugs the hell out of me when I'm hosting the server. It's MY server, with MY add ons. Why should I conform to your standards so you can build something completely unrelated to the server!? My server is doing just FINE without the Mininuke, the Minigun, Unlimited Mining, RP Mods, and all those other frequently used add ons.

So. Do you ever tell someone they need to get an add on? Do you see justification for doing this? Have you done it yourself? (I for one, have. I remember a day that I went through nearly the whole server list, just asking "DO YOU HAVE THIS MUSIC?", and leaving when they would say no.)

In this case, I'm not trying to be so "This is something that just happened to me, insult this person". I'm trying to DISCUSS a particular issue within the community of Blockland. Not just one person/story.

I get this occasionally...
A couple of weeks ago someone ragequit because I refused to restart the server to enable pole bricks and round corners (funny few minutes). He ragequit and I used the addon loader to load the addons he "demanded"...

Personally, I'd rather have a server with less addons, as is the way I host, because A - You know what people can be using, B - Noone screams OMGWTFLONGLOAD!!!! and C - Blockland hosting uses up a hell of a lot of my internet download/upload limit so less is more :)

I saw this on [????] Blockland Neighborhood

It had all of these custom bricks, which made the build itself look great, but people were like "LONG LOAD!!!" and leaving.

I usually only ever host servers to specific genres so I don't have a problem with people suggesting I get an Add-On that fits that particular genre. I'm not going to stop hosting to go get that Add-on straight away, but I will make note of it for next time.
Obviously, if I'm hosting something in say, a medieval genre, I'm just going to ignore your requests for laser weapons, if you continue on, I'll either kick you or my admins will ban you (They generally go a slight step too far on the punishment scale, but they take a fair amount to be pushed that far. Darkeh :P). Usually if someone suggests I get a brickpack or event add-on, I'll have a look at it and see if it's something I want/need/like as well.
In short, if you suggest an add-on that makes sense on my server, it may just be there next time, unless you went about requesting it in the wrong way amd simply made a fool out of yourself.

Not as bad as people coming into servers asking "HOW MANY ADDONZZZ  DO U HASSXZZZ". They need to realize that downloading time depends on yourself, and not just the server.
