Not as bad as people coming into servers asking "HOW MANY ADDONZZZ  DO U HASSXZZZ". They need to realize that downloading time depends on yourself, and not just the server.

The closest I've come to asking for a server to use certain Add-ons were once in a dogfight Xang was hosting, and a suggestion to Cucumberdude to use Builder Mode in his servers because of his long AFK periods. I thought he could use Builder mode to avoid becoming fodder/a nuisance in his DM's and TDM's.

I think the actual bricks (poles wedges tophius bricks etc) are useful and doesn't take much time to download

but all those weapons,music,vehicles,sounds, big maps that aren't in RTB are very annoying

you don't even DL bricks without RTB :D

i find that event mods are a must anywho

nope.

only so much bandwidth is possible to download from a blockland server. regardless of your own internet speed, it cant speed up.
you cant be a jerk to someone who dont already have all the loving stupid addons already, just because you wanted to bog your game down with stuff.
people ask how many addons not just because of wait time, but because many addons = a stuff server
