Ok, I'm somewhat irritated by this right now, not by any of you guys but its the people that I actually know. What is up with it, they don't listen to anything else at all except things that some monday makes that somehow EVERYBODY knows. I'm fighting with a friend right now on how they should try something like Alice Cooper, or Motely Crue. Their response is "um i dont lissen to 80s music, that stuff sucks." Now I don't have a problem if you hate any of them but theirs one thing that pisses me off about that, they're talking about everything from the 80's in general. Not every loving song was the same, and in my opinion it's tons better than some of the stuff thatd youd hear on the radio today. Now, I say that I also listen to some modernish stuff like Saliva (I think thats somewhat modern music youd here) Then they started bashing on the entire rock genre. So I tell them that I listen to a little rap too which they know SO much about. I show them some of my favorite rap, and they say its okish but not as good as stuff like Tpain or florider or whatever the hell it is. I thought they were more of a hiphop kinda thing or some stuff but that beats me.

Why does everybody only listen to things off of the radio currently?

Yeah but everyone only knows the songs off of like 2 channels here :|
and both channels have the same songs and are hiphop/rap and stuff
I actually like some of it though

I listen to disco  :cookieMonster:

I listen to this. It's an Indie Remix, so you'll never find it on I Tunes or on the radio.

There's plenty others. Any more links though and it increases the chance that no one will watch them. Not that anyone would presently

I only listen to music from a little before the Swing Era all the way to the 70s. (Not techno or rock, though. Or any of the retro musics, really. :c) Some going after that, but not much. All modern day music basically does come from Jazz, Country, and Blues, and those are my main styles of choice. Them days were the bests. :3

my local radio plays mashups of songs, and it's really good.

I don't really listen to the radio anymore. I have an iPod that I play through my car's tape deck. Reason being, I'm tired of all the commercials, the shameless self promoting, and playing the same song at least 3 times an hour killing any enjoyment of listening to music. They do nothing but force crap they think you should like down your throats and only the most mentally inebriated follow through and react like your friends do. The best era of music was from the 1960s to 1990s. After that, too much blase talent has been able to weasel their way in and take any skill out of making music with the help of auto tone correction, ripping off other people's songs as shameless covers or base tones for stuffty hip hop or just giving up on singing all together and speaking out of beat with musical accompaniment. It's to the point where anyone with half a brain can be a super star when it used to take this little magic thing called talent to even get rejected by major music studios.
