You can however fake it that they are moving by constantly deleting and remaking a brick on the grid, however a) it will lag with heaps of bricks and b) I'm sure badspot would fail bin it. Therefore, yes, it is impossible with a static grid.
Or fakeKillBrick with Brick Physics on with impulse. But it couldn't do more then tumble around and not be a real brick.
In old Blockland, bricks were made differently. As of now, it's essentially impossible to create moving bricks, but with a little ingenuity you can event the illusion of moving bricks.
Extension: Bricks in v0002 were .DTS objects like the player. Retail does the bricks differently. Some bricks use DTS models for collision, although not display. As such, since they aren't models in the same sense, they can't work the same.
