Religion influences, it can not make someone do something. It is an enabler, to both the good and the bad. A gateway, in a sense. Without it, much may not exist. . It has helped some to contribute to art, music, architecture, food, concepts, and much more, including science. It has also helped some hold us back, placing up barriers and ceasing scientific and cultural ventures, as well as helping some cause many conflicts and struggles throughout history, such as war. It ultimately depends upon what view you see it from. But no matter which side you are on, the world certainly would be different without religion, maybe for good and maybe for bad. You just must, at the very least, tolerate a person's views. I, personally, believe that two things are essential in life: Love and Faith.
