If you have a sock, and it keeps getting holes in it, which you patch... at what point do you no longer consider it the original sock?

Coolbeans.

Good thinking stuff tho.

It's made of different materials, but it it still your sock.

I would say you have a nice mind for philosophy... but this was uncalled for.

Throw the loving sock out once it has 1 hole.

Eh...well...you...

...

once 50.00001% of the original material has been replaced... the ship part though... i think it would be the patched one, because technically it was built first.

I think the point was to discuss the theory which explains it.  Your reasoning isn't needed sadly.

Funny thing is, if you had an axe and you replaced the handle, you might consider it the same axe, right?
If you replaced the head but not the handle you'd consider it the same axe, right?
But if it's the same axe when you replace the handle, then you replace the head, etc.

What if you named it "The Same Axe"

Then you'd have to say that whenever you referred to it.

aHA!

Ahem.
