Author Topic: New Engine?  (Read 12037 times)

See, this is why we need Blockland 2 to come out.

People need to learn that Badspot wouldn't update to a random $100,000 engine, it would most likely be Torque 3D, which is only $1000. I have played around with the Torque 3D demo, and it has some pretty good graphics(as in able to handle more ploys), a good map editor, and this physics plugin thing that has physics objects you can interact with(as in walking on top of them, getting crushed by them, etc.). It will take a lot of effort, and might cost us another 20 or 30 dollars, but I think it might be worth it.

Besides, BL runs on like, the first torque engine.

I would pay up to probably $50 again if I could get the same ID. stuff, I woulda payed $50 for this when I got it originally. I don't think we need an engine update though. I doubt baddy will ever do it. Reason being:

When you buy it, it says lifetime membership. If he wanted to switch engines and had to charge people again, we would end up like retail was when it was released; some people were really mad that they had to pay for the update and decided to continue playing the old one with no further updates (I know it never updated, but I'm just making a point) He would be breaking his own values, by making people that thought it was a lifetime membership pay again for just an updated game that they already own.

True
But it would be a cool thing if he did update. To see more stuff come out and maybe those JVS Elevators will come out.

You pose a good point, but if the majority of the community wants a new engine, I think he may do it.

Yeah probably but still I want to see some fricking Elevators!

He doesn't listen to the suggestions and requests section, he hasn't posted in the V14,15,16 suggestions topics, and he hasn't posted here. He doesn't care if the community wants it or not.

He has no way of knowing what the majority wants.

Yeah, why doesn't he ever participate in the forums anymore?

A new engine for Blockland would be as complicated as an emergency open heart surgery using your teeth.

The forums are only very a small slice Blockland.

Correct but he should update if we donate or something. Because I am pretty sure its 2010 not 2007 or something.

Would you pay another $20 for Badspot to change the engine?

Depending on whether or not he changes it to something better, yes.

It's already at 15, silly.
