You need the stomach to recieve food that contains minerals after the food has been swallowed, then the food will pass from the stomach to the intestines, to successfully RETRIEVE the food that contains MINERALS in order for our body to survive. The principle applies to water as well. Unless you're taking suppositories. Ouch.
