I had installed Blockland on a public computer then deleted key.dat so my key would disappear, then when I got home and went on Blockland, my full version was Demo again. Is this supposed to happen?

How much time passed when you authed on the public computer and when you authed at home?

Probably because you switched IP address for that period.
Re-enter at home and it will stay like it until you go public again
