Author Topic: RAM upgrade.  (Read 1830 times)

Ok so I'm getting pretty sick and tired of having all my steam games run as slow as Fallout 3 on a Windows 98.
I blame my computer's amazing 1 whole loving GB of RAM.

I'm thinking about getting an upgrade. I've seen prices for 256mb, 512mb, 1gb, and 2gb upgrades for my laptop. WHICH by the way, in case anyone might do me any favors, is a Dell Latitude D620.

I'm willing to go up to about $70 for it. Any suggestions how much/what brand i should buy (from)?

I do not want to buy anything online. I would much rather get a ride to Best Buy and buy it there.

Download more RAM.

I'm completely computer-illiterate.

Explain...?

Go buy more ram from a store, and install it into your computer/laptop

For your sake, I hope you have a laptop. Macbooks rock for that stuff since installing more ram is easy being you only just remove a plate and you have access to RAM/HDD/and Battery.

Then do it and don't place it on a carpet.

That or you could allocate some virtual random access memory.

I don't think that works the same.
I could be wrong.

lotta people say virtual memory is a waste of HD and time.
but it actually does help alot lol. (more so for games, and only when you specifically give virtual memory to that app)

most stores will probably install the ram for you.
