yea, I mean, why doesn't he just buy Microsoft? It's so easy and then he can get a new computer.

More information needed. Whether you can upgrade or not depends on what you have now and if anything better will fit into the type of slot on your motherboard.

I don't think $120 would get me a computer better than this one.

We need to know your entire system. Post dxdiag.

Also, thats not to stuffty

You have a dual core CPU at 1.83 GHz. It's not that bad.

Oh and you're using a laptop which means you're going to have to find the very specific CPU socket that laptop uses, not the typical broad range of standard CPU socket that desktops normally use, and since your laptop is outdated anyway chances are you can't even find a good CPU for your laptop socket.

In English: You can't upgrade.

Gah loving snake.

Well now that you have my dxdiag, any other suggestions to make my computer run programs faster? CS:S still runs worse than Fallout 3 on a Windows 98 :I

All you can do is upgrade your RAM unless you're willing to spend days searching for an actual non-black market dealer who'll sell you the CPU without it being secondhand, or you're willing to learn how to solder in chips, you're forgeted.

Buy a desktop.

I am going to upgrade my ram from 1gb to 2gb sometime before the week ends.

But, forget. That probably won't do a huge good.

It won't do anything since your processor is stuff and you probably don't even have a GPU meant for games.

What did you expect when you installed those games onto that thing?
