Ephialtes may or may not be a pompous douchebag. I agree with the first adjective on a lower-end scale, but I disagree with the second adjective.

The point is that generally, Ephialtes is someone who has a snappy, intelligible comeback that puts you on the floor. Either because you're angry about how you can't get a good comeback in, or because you're laughing at how outright good his comeback was.
