Just got home from my second day working

Right now I'm working part time at a pallet manufacturing company. You think your legs ache from pushing carts, try loading 6000 pounds of 2x4s, by hand, into a machine in about an hours time. That's tough. And I have it easy compared to most jobs. But I want to quit that cause I'm trying to get a job in a nursing home kitchen right now. I'd much rather do that.

Good for you Littledude. You're a step above all the whiny kids who complain they don't have money and that their parents won't buy them everything. Just keep at it, your body will adjust to the physical demand. Depending on how old you are you should consider exercising more regularly though. Weight lifting and all that. You can get equipment real cheap off of Craigslist. Perhaps your school has a variety of weight lifting equipment available to student use after school. Mine did.

There is a pallet shop right down the road from me. The neighbor and I go there to pick up the wood scrap they dump in his trailer. stuff looks painful on a hot summer day. I used to have a physically exerting job in the summer working at a scrap yard and it was always about 10-15 degrees hotter there because of the metal everywhere.

In high school my one friend worked in a nursing home kitchen. The pay was good and the work was easy.

but minimum age is 16; I'll be 15 in 15 days. FFFF- :(

We have a new supermarket in our shopping center nearby. I've been planning on working there.

I work at a book warehouse, I handle both pallets and heavy boxes of books with no air conditioning.

We moved almost 50,000 pallets and books last year.

I'm late, but reading through this topic I have realised how stupid superslayer is.

Spending time on the computer =/= bad grades and stuff. And the fact any of you have a job while still in school is great. It can help with paying for university/college a lot. And overall helps you out with starting in life.

A friend and I work at a local store doing various things from unloading small trucks to stocking shelves and working the cash. It's not great money but we've pocketed a nice bit, mainly being saved for school and a car next year.
